Introduction

Welcome to eTalk, a B2B VoIP SIP softphone and omnichannel dialer application developed and operated by ePBX.bd (https://epbx.bd/). eTalk allows business users to connect to their Cloud PBX extensions to make and receive real-time business calls over the internet efficiently and securely. This Privacy Policy outlines how we handle, collect, and protect your information when you use our application. We are committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected and strictly comply with Google Play Store User Data and Data Safety policies.

Information We Collect & Why

To provide you with seamless PBX and VoIP calling features, we require access to certain device permissions and data. Below is a detailed breakdown of what we access and why:

  • Microphone & Audio: eTalk requires access to your device's microphone strictly to capture and transmit audio in real-time to facilitate VoIP voice calls using WebRTC and SIP protocols. We do not record or monitor your audio on the device.
  • Contacts (READ_CONTACTS): The app accesses your device's local contact list solely for core app functionality: allowing you to dial numbers directly from your phonebook and to display "Caller ID" when you receive an incoming call. Crucially: Your contacts are NEVER uploaded to our servers, nor are they shared with any third parties. All contact data remains local to your device.
  • Call Logs (READ_CALL_LOG / WRITE_CALL_LOG): eTalk accesses your call history to display recent incoming, outgoing, and missed VoIP calls directly within the app's native dialer interface, ensuring a seamless communication experience.
  • Camera Access: The app requires camera access strictly for scanning QR codes to facilitate instant login and automatic configuration of your SIP Extension. We do not capture, store, record, or transmitted any images or videos. The permission is used exclusively for one-time credential scanning.
  • Display Over Other Apps (Overlay Permission): This permission is necessary to display the incoming call interface on top of other applications or the lock screen. This guarantees that you never miss an important business call and can seamlessly interact with call controls (Answer/Decline) regardless of your device's current state.
  • Background Services: eTalk runs continuous background services to maintain a persistent push-notification or socket connection with the ePBX SIP server. This is mandatory to ensure real-time incoming call delivery and reliable push notifications while the app is closed.
  • Device & Network Data: We utilize Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to generate a device token. This token is used purely for delivering background push notifications to wake up your app when there is an incoming SIP call.
  • SIP Credentials: Your assigned SIP User ID (Extension) and password are used locally to authenticate your connection to our secure PBX servers.

Google Play Data Safety Disclosures

In accordance with Google Play Data Safety guidelines, please note our data practices regarding your Camera and IDs:

  • Camera Data: Camera data is "Collected" (processed temporarily in memory) strictly for QR Code scanning (App Functionality). However, this data is NOT Shared with any third-party under any circumstances.
  • Device/Other IDs: Firebase Device Tokens (IDs) are collected for App Functionality specifically to deliver incoming call Push Notifications.

How We Use the Information

The information and permissions requested are used exclusively to:

  • Provide core B2B VoIP and Softphone communication services.
  • Authenticate your extension with your company's cloud PBX network.
  • Ensure maximum call quality, reliable call delivery, and system security.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services strictly to maintain app reliability and deliver notifications. Specifically, we use Google Firebase for crash reporting (Crashlytics) to fix technical bugs, and Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to instantly wake your device for incoming calls.

Data Security

Security is a fundamental component of eTalk. All SIP signaling protocols and real-time audio data transmission (RTP) between your app and the ePBX servers are secured, leveraging industry-standard encryption practices where configured by your PBX administrator to prevent unauthorized eavesdropping.

Data Retention & Deletion Policy

Because eTalk relies on PBX extensions managed by your company's administrator, account data is inherently tied to your business's active PBX service. If you wish to delete your account, wipe your data from our servers, or revoke your SIP extension, you may request account deletion directly by contacting your company's telecom administrator or by reaching out to our support team.
